The centerpiece of Rhode Island politics will be the race to replace Governor Don Carcieri, who is term-limited. Both House seats are also contested, including that of the Congressman Patrick Kennedy, who has announced that he will not seek re-election. Senators Sheldon Whitehouse and Jack Reed are up for re-elections in 2012 and 2014, respectively.
