Statement of Faith

There is one God, who manifests Himself in three "persons": God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. God has always existed and is the perfectly just and Holy Creator of the universe.

Since no human being meets God's standard of perfect holiness, all of us qualify as "sinners" and therefore deserve to die and go to hell. The good news - "Gospel" - is that God in His love paid our death penalty for us so that whoever believes in Him is saved and will spend eternity with Him in heaven.

Jesus Christ is God the Son who came to earth as a baby born to a virgin girl named Mary. After living a sinless life, Jesus voluntarily died on the cross to pay the death penalty due for our sins, and was buried. After three days, He rose from the dead to prove His deity and appeared to over 500 before ascending to God the Father in heaven. Jesus will come again, suddenly and at a date and time known only to God.

To be saved, we must sincerely believe that Jesus' death on the cross paid in full for our sins. There is no other way to be saved. We should do good works, not to be saved, but to express our gratitude to, obey, and honor Jesus for having saved us. Trying to win salvation through doing good works is as futile as death row inmates trying to win freedom by good behavior.

The Bible consists of the 66 books of the Old and New Testament. It is divinely inspired by God, who used people to write it, like we use pens to write. The Bible is the sole authority on God's truth and God closed it with a stern warning not to add or remove anything from it.
